Better Together.

Southwest Health Alliance has always been part of Peak Health Alliance. As of July 2021, we’ll be transitioning to the Peak name, but staying local right here in the Four Corners.

An initiative of the Local First Foundation, We’re best known as Peak Health Alliance, a licensed health care purchasing alliance serving Colorado. We’ll be transitioning to Peak’s main site in Summer 2021, but we’re still locally led and focused on the Southwest.

By focusing on keeping care local, Peak has been able to reduce premiums in Summit County by 20% and, thanks to Colorado’s re-insurance program, premiums dropped even more for many. Peak Health worked directly with providers to create better access for important needs like behavioral health and pediatrics.

Peak has expanded to 6 more counties for the 2021 plan year, including La Plata, Montezuma, San Juan, and Dolores counties.

We plan to offer affordable, ACA-compliant plans for individuals and businesses that include improved access to behavioral health providers, unlimited doctor visits zero-dollar copays, and other important community needs.

We’re also excited to offer plans for businesses of any size under our new ICHRA product, which allows employers to reimburse their employees tax-free for health insurance premiums.

Both individual and business (ICHRA) plans will be carried by Bright Health for 2021.

Stay tuned for more information as rates are released to get a look at the benefits we’ll be offering.

Southwest Health Alliance, now known as Peak Health Alliance, began as an initiative under the Local First Foundation, whose mission is to conduct education, research, and outreach on the importance of local self-reliance in order to build an economy that values people, the planet, and prosperity for everyone in the greater La Plata County region.

Southwest Health Alliance began as a member of Peak Health Alliance, which began as a special initiative of The Summit Foundation, a community foundation focused on resolving the issues that affect the quality of life in Summit County. Now officially called Peak Health Alliance across Colorado!
